  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt

  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  2. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
  3. Stir in olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes, or until doubled.
